If I could only wake up to this view everyday!

Another New York City skyline shot.

Empire State Building lit up Red/Pink/White for Valentine’s Day, with a “chocolate” sky.

My First Shot, originally uploaded by DennisPatti.

This is one of the first shots I have ever taken with my D-SLR.

The Empire State Building is lit up Green/White/Green in honor of the New York Jets making it to the NFL Playoffs.

For people not familiar with New York City, the blue glow to the left is Times Square, and the street that you can see straight down is 42nd Street.

Thanks goes to Dartdood for introducing me to this awesome spot to take these photos.

Hello, World!

I am a technology professional with over 20 years of experience focusing on Enterprise Systems Programming, working with the Windows and Linux/Unix platforms (hence the “Hello, World” title which other programmers will understand).

I am interested in just about anything that has to do with technology.  I am also a gamer (World of Warcraft), music lover (Rush!), and an overall geek.

In April of 2009, I visited Washington, D.C. and using a point-and-shoot camera, I took a few shots that I was pretty impressed with.  After posting a few of these pictures online to Facebook, the response I received was very flattering (and shocking for that matter).

Ever since that day, I have wanted to get  my hands on a digital SLR camera.  Towards the end of November, an opportunity came up where one of my friends was selling his Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT.  Knowing how well he takes care of the things he buys, I quickly jumped on the offer and took it off his hands.

After taking a bunch of pictures here and there, and also visiting Washington, D.C. again with my new camera, I decided to use this blog to post some of my “work” I guess you would call it.

I welcome any constructive criticism, advice, and/or recommendations from anyone willing to share their time and knowledge with me.

Thanks for taking the time to look through my site!
